HOW TO ORDER OUR JAPANESE RICE BOWL?

One of the most frequently asked questions would be “How to order?” Orders are done through Whatsapp (wa.me/6281298888836) and orders will be delivered by Gojek. And unlike other online restaurants which most require us to order a day prior to delivery, Ryokudo allows their customers to order oinstantly with only 15-20 minutes of preparation time. We are now also availble on Go-food!
What is their best-selling dish?

Ryokudo started by selling “Ultimate Saikoro Don” Wagyu saikoro beef marinated with Ryokudo’s special sauce. And then we launched “Salmon Aburi Don” which is currently our best-seller and Chef’s personal favourite! Blazed Norwegian Salmon paired with chukawame and ikura on top of Ryokudo rice. It gives u a fresh, sweet and savoury sensation in every bite! We really recommend you to try this dish out! We currently have 8 different dishes in our menu; we have Unagi Don, Unagi Salmon Don, Gyudon, Salmon Aburi Don, Salmon mentai don, ultimate saikoro don, steak don and a super-sized Donburi Oki Don.
HISTORY OF DONBURI AND RYOKUDO!
We have seen a lot of Japanese cuisine restaurants selling ‘Donburi’ in their menu, which is essentially various kinds of dishes put on top of a rice in a bowl. With the current trend of simplicity and fast-paced living culture Donburi is match in modern with the mixed style of main dish and side one so that it’s easy to prepare and eat quickly. In history,it started to appear in the Edo era (1603–1867) in Japan, The first donburi dish was unagi (eel) don. In unagi don, a broiled eel was put on a cooked bowl of rice. In this period the dish was meant to be eaten while attending the theater. Since the meal was very easy to prepare but tasted nice, it was very quick to spread and became quite popular. Such donburi dish became popular after the Meiji era (1868 – 1912) in Japan.
So moving into the history of Ryokudo, The word ryokudo originates from “shokudo” which means a casual/small restaurant serving a variety of inexpensive japanese cuisines and Ryo came from the founder. As its name, ryokudo aims to provide high quality food at an affordable price point. I have always been fascinated by Japanese food and its rich deep rooted culture. One day I set off to the very heart of Japan, Tokyo and was amazed by the street food and the diversity of dishes and decided to bring what I experienced back home to share with my friends and family. With the passion and love for Japanese cuisine, Ryokudo was born. Here at Ryokudo, my aim is to provide a mix of fusion dishes that depend on uncompromising fresh, genuine ingredients to capture the simple and hearty essence of Japanese cooking
